Peaceful, the Side Channel of the Garonne connects Bordeaux in Toulouse. It”s the prolongation of the Channel of “midi” to connect the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic ocean. Built in second half of the 17th century and classified by l'UNESCO to the World Inheritance of Humanity. This unit forms the channel of the two seas.
The Side Channel runs on 193 km, including 87 in the department of Lot-et-Garonne. It is punctuated by 16 locks and several tubular bridges, on the Garonne (Agen) and Baïse (Buzet).
During your travel, you follow various landscapes, art’s works and the famous cities of the Moyenne Garonne. The serenity which emanates from this remarkable work, invites to stroll, by feet, on bicycles or in boat.
